THE GARDENS

You will have the opportunity to see gardens such as this one in Komoka:

This 13-year-old garden was initially overplanted, then expanded with more peonies, shrubs, trees, evergreens, grasses and invasive ground covers, and perennials. I am committed to removing the invasive species. These will be slowly replaced with various well-behaved natives. Part of the backyard is in dry shade, enclosed by white cedar and three maples. Here the many natives are living well with the hostas.
There are two small vegetable herb gardens that are shifting to a perennial sustainable food source. The boulevard ‘hellstrip’ demonstrates what survives the abusive conditions of full sun, sand, dry, road and sidewalk calcium salts and plowing.

And also this one located in southwest London:

Aside from the mature trees, the garden was re-started from scratch when the owner moved in.  A combination of sun and shade-loving perennials and flowering shrubs are found along the borders of the lawn area.  Easy to grow hosta and repeating masses of colourful sedum and ajuga can be found throughout.  Container arrangements of annuals throughout the garden are a feast for the eyes and the many pollinators attracted to the vibrant colours.

And this one is located in west London:

This garden is a collection of favorite plants and favorite colours. It is a mix of perennial flowers with herbs mixed into the borders and native species scattered throughout. There are both sun and shade beds as well as a pond with a waterfall. It is always a work in progress. I have very few set rules about what I place in the garden. I do try to avoid plants that are high maintenance and colours that clash.
