The purpose of each plant is to procreate and many do that via seeds. Learn about the gardener’s part in helping veggies and fruit attract the necessary pollinators and achieve their best growing potential.

can help you grow the biggest, best, most beautiful, pest and disease free plants. You will reap the benefit with an amazing harvest. The focus of this 8-week course is on edible plants and their beneficial companions. Options are explored for all sizes of gardens including small urban plots, patios, and balconies.

Course Outline

8 weeks of classroom instruction and hands-on workshops covering everything from soil preparation and seed selection to planting, maintaining, harvesting and preserving. The focus is on gardens you can EAT as well as colourful and helpful companion flowers.

Location – Civic Garden Complex, 625 Springbank Drive

Time – 7:00 pm to  9:00 pm each week.

Date – Tuesdays March 19th through May 7th, 2019

Cost – $100 (early bird price) for 16 hours of instruction, some hands-on time in Greenhouse, plus basic seed starting supplies.
