“Native Plant Superheroes and Mortals” Wanted… (FREE Talk at Landon Library) Mar 22, 2017

Have you ever woken up to see three baby Screech Owls staring at you through the window? How about stumbled across a hatchling Snapping Turtle heading toward your pond? Maybe you’ve seen a falcon chasing an eagle just overhead? Or possibly you’ve watched in awe as ten Black-throated Blue Warblers drink from your water feature. All these, and many more remarkable wildlife encounters have occurred at our house just a stone’s throw away from downtown Wortley Village.

Ben Porchuk talks about In the Zone – a joint program of World Wildlife Fund and Carolinian Canada. Come hear how you can establish native plants in your yard, encourage your neighbours and reap the benefits of experiencing nesting owls, eagle fly-bys, beautiful butterflies, visiting turtles and see stop-offs of amazing migrating birds.
